Brief Overview:

Bilingual Required (French and English)

Leading internal and external communications on a specific strategic initiative within the insurance division of the Canadian Segment.

The initiative is improving the way we communicate or talk about the investment we’ve made in service operations. We are known for great products, but the service model is lacking (especially compared to competitors). We are making a huge investment in improvement but need to communicate this internally and externally. This person will be solely responsible for giving internal members such as leaders, wholesale teams, and advisors with information they need to understand what Manulife is doing and change their mindset on how Manulife feels about service. This could include helping managers with key messages, digging into business units in our service operations area and understanding what changes are put in place, collecting metrics as proof points that we are improving things, then designing communication packages to go out in all directions, highlighting the changes.

They have to be really ‘scrappy” and dig up this information and then be able to communicate it through all the channels.

Someone who is comfortable in communications and comfortable digging in to ask questions.

You can be a great writer, but that doesn’t mean you understand what it means to design plans tailored to different audiences—hence the required experience.

Yes, it’s communicating but it’s just as much about influencing and changing mindsets, as well. Evolving a culture.
