Summary
Opportunity: The client (DND) has a requirement for a Senior Technology Architect to work on the system implementation and preparation for In-Service Support phases of the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program. The FAcT mandate is to develop and implement a new and cohesive training program that replaces the Royal Canadian Armed Forces existing Pilot, Air Combat Systems Office and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operation training systems.
Location: National Capital Region
Contract Duration: 3 years with possibility for extensions
Travel: May be required to travel outside of the National Capital Region
Mandatory Requirements:
Education/certifications:
- Degree/diploma in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position (I.e. computer or software engineering, information systems, data science, etc.)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate/Equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in the past 10 years of combined and demonstrated experience with the production of Government of Canada and Treasury Board project approval documents and presentations for Major Capital Projects (over $5M). This includes but not limited to: Project Brief, Project Charter, Statement of Requirements (SOR), Business Case, Project Complexity and Risk Analysis (PCRA), Investment Plan Change Proposal (IPCP), PRICIE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the past 10 years using Microsoft Project.
Job Duties:
- Participate in various meetings: working group meetings, IM/IT sub-working group meetings, stakeholder meetings, internal FAcT team meetings, and others
- Analyze information and timelines against the IM/IT Requirements.
- Perform site inspections at each base focusing on Disaster Recovery, Threat Risk Assessments, and Vulnerability Testing
- Capture feedback, guidance and technical recommendations; developing presentations.
- Participate in system requirements review, Preliminary Design Review and Critical Design Review for Performance Management, Training and Data Analytics, Integration with Other Systems, System Architecture, Integrated Master Plan, etc.
- Act as the “Subject Matter Expert” for Performance Management, System Architecture, Issue Resolution and the Integrated Master Plan and Integrated Master Schedule
- Consult with IM/IT project team to develop an IM/IT project schedule
- Participate in IM/IT operational infrastructure planning
- Develop the IM/IT Design Review entry criteria and Functional Baseline
- Training Readiness Verification and Test Readiness Review
- Review the IM/IT final design and Product and Services Baseline ensuring the fulfilment of the entry criteria against the IM/IT system design
- Participate in planning sessions and meetings covering continuous improvements of the FAcT Training System, Maintenance and Support, Backup and Restore Procedures, etc.
- Update/analyze the System Architecture document, Maintenance and Support Plan, Baseline Configuration documents, Concept of Operations, etc.
