Job Description

Our client, a leader in the banking industry is seeking an IT Manager to join their team full-time. This is a hybrid role out of their downtown Toronto office. The IT Manager is accountable for planning, developing, installing, configuring and maintenance of corporate hardware, software and any related infrastructure. Manager is also responsible for the maintenance of the Canada Branch (“Bank”) Local Area Network (“LAN”) and applications. 5-10 Years IT infrastructure experience working in progressive roles

Responsibilities:

Assist the IT team with multiple IT projects through initiation, definition, execution, testing, and transitions to business operation teams.

Draft and update project control documents including status reports and project plans.

Monitor and maintain the performance of IT systems. (Servers, workstations, printers, etc.)

Maintain an inventory of all hardware, software and licenses.

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to internal IT.

Hands on expertise with server and communications technologies and applications.

Assists in management of Vendors.

Ensure adherence with audit controls standards.

New Hire Onboarding - Configure computers, including installing software and granting access to the network shares / application access

Responsible for installation and maintenance of hardware, applications and systems upgrades as required.

Participate in equipment and system maintenance calls when necessary.

Assist with IT security controls not specifically covered by the Americas Team in New York.

Provide assistance and support regarding any IT/Systems project or initiative.

Troubleshoot, analyze, resolve, and accurately document various technical problems and resolutions.

Responsible for the telecommunication system and mobile device management and maintenance.

Ensure all Bank information is backed up daily and properly maintained on local servers.

Provide tape media library support services including loading, unloading, filing, tracking and preparing media for offsite vaulting services. Reconciling and auditing inventories of media tapes.

Responsible for the maintenance of all LAN servers including installation of equipment, security patches and updates.

Provide support and assist with the management of the Bank’s Third Party Outsourced vendors as required.

 

Qualifications:

5-10 years of System/IT experience

University or College degree in relevant discipline

Working knowledge of VMware ESXi host, VM windows servers and VMware horizon (VDI)

Experience with VOIP and LAN (CISCO)

Good communication and inter-personal skills and team player

Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines effectively
