Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Canadian Tax Senior Accountant to join their tax practice in Vancouver! This versatile role will involve working directly with a number of our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual whom is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in managing tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients. 

Their tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross border investment and compliance.

What you will achieve in this role:

  • Prepare and review (where applicable) Canadian individual and corporate tax returns
  • Verify tax assessments
  • Perform technical research and documenting tax plan recommendations
  • Correspond with clients, other advisors and tax authorities
  • Coordinate and manage client accounts
  • Assist managers and partners with tax initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing tax planning strategies for clients
  • Understand, analyze and research tax queries for clients, Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers
  • Collaborate with and support team members in providing exceptional client service
  • Provide leadership and direction to junior team members to ensure completion of filings by designated deadlines

What you must bring to this role:

  • CPA, CA or working towards a CPA designation; completion of UFE/CFE
  • Commitment to pursue the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course
  • Minimum of three years of Canadian tax experience
  • Experience working in a public practice Accounting Firm is an asset
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service
  • Adept organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail
