The Project Manager will plan, manage and deliver distinct projects through all specific phases in alignment with business and/or enterprise strategies. This individual may manage a number of small to medium size projects at any given time with a low to medium complexity risk profile and time horizon generally ranging from short to medium term. This individual may support projects within multiple CTO portfolios.
Your Accountabilities Include:
- Indirectly manage a LoB project team consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs and technology resources (where applicable) under the 1PM project & resource management framework or Next Evolution of Work (NEW) in future; Manages the project team, stakeholders and key project deliverables
- Engage executive sponsors to drive out business cases to support project execution
- Engage appropriate stakeholders to identify and manage required outcomes of projects for the business
- Establish effective project oversight and other governance bodies, and engage the correct levels to support the direction for the project
- Provide on-going communication to key stakeholders, including the Project Sponsor, Business Project Owner, Program Manager and Portfolio Manager to ensure they are aware of significant changes to the project status in a timely manner
- Respond to inquiries and escalate concerns from stakeholders at all levels in the organization (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management)
- Provide advice and guidance to business partners and project team as required regarding best practices in project management
- Collaborate with appropriate partners to ensure required resources are assigned to the project for successful delivery
- Executes project management deliverables within budget and as per the approved project plan, working with business partners to develop the content of those deliverables
- Develops, monitors and tracks project plans throughout project lifecycle
- Monitors project health continuously and engages management as required if project health changes
- Monitors and controls the work related to each deliverable
- Deliver and own project outcomes that are aligned to established cost, timing, deliverable and scope objectives
- Generate cost estimates and provides general financial management, incorporating risk, by leveraging appropriate tools, templates,
- Proactively identify and track project risk, project issues and develop mitigation plans to manage risk and issues
- Champions project governance and processes
- Owns the accurate reporting of status, risks and project financials (i.e., data quality) in the bank’s enterprise reporting system
- Accurately forecast and manage assigned budget to provide monthly financial reporting for projects in alignment with Finance standards
- Provides project reporting, including technology spend, and ad-hoc analysis and presents issues requiring attention by senior management. Escalates issues, as required
- Identifies discrepancies between financial forecasts and actuals and escalates material discrepancies and adjusts scope, schedule or budget as appropriate
- Manages resource and capacity management process for assigned projects for all project resources, external contractors / consultants and coordination of competing priorities
- Ensure the project spending approval policy is followed
- Support vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
- Apply bank principles of project management life cycle methodologies, tools and best practices, ensuring that appropriate documentation, change and risk/issue management practices are in place
Must Haves:
- 7+ years full life cycle project management experience (from inception business case to project deployment & closure)
- Knowledge and experience in delivering projects leveraging Agile methodology
- Experience with technologies or projects involving Security, Infrastructure, Application Integration, Application Migration, Cloud technologies would be preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management
- Exposure to financial management with respect to tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets in the $1 - $5 million range
- Team player with ability to influence and achieve results through effective negotiation, problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
Nice to Have
- PMP and / or CSM certification or equivalent preferred
- Some development Knowledge (Angular or Java)

BREADTH & DEPTH:
- Manages projects with low regulatory oversight
- Project risk profile is generally moderate to high
- Management direction or executive oversight may be required and provided as needed
- Typically leads the delivery of Tier 2 -4 projects, with medium – high complexity profiles
- May indirectly manage a LoB project team consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs and Technology resources where applicable to the project
- May manage a number of small projects at any given time, and time horizon of projects are generally short term ? 1year
- Generally reports to a higher level Project Manager, Program or Portfolio Director
