The Client:
Our client is a public accounting firm in GTA that takes prides in its unique, diverse and collaborative corporate culture. Our client is looking for an Assurance Manager with a minimum of 5 years of public accounting and leadership experience to join their team to work directly with Partners to provide accounting and tax support.
What you will achieve in this role:
- Review assurance and compilation files before the final Partner review including but not limited to: working papers, financial statements, schedules and tax returns
- Lead multiple engagements and oversee files for assigned clients
- Plan, direct and review audit engagements with the Partner overseeing the client
- Delegate as appropriate, sections of file to staff members ensuring that the file is moving as per
- Address client issues, using your technical and accounting knowledge to offer up solutions
- Mentor and coach staff through knowledge transfer, assignment of files and one-on-ones
- Maintain proficiency and current knowledge of standards – accounting, assurance, internal
What you must bring to this role:
- At least 5 years experience within audit & accounting in a public accounting firm with supervisory functions
- A CPA designation
- Strong demonstrated accounting and tax knowledge
- An understanding of Canadian auditing standards
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). You will need to be comfortable communicating with stakeholders at various levels
- Proven leadership and mentorship experience
- Ability to multi-task effectively without losing sight of deadlines
