We are currently seeking a Senior Manager – US Corporate Tax to join our tax practice in Toronto or Vancouver! This versatile role will involve working directly with a number of our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual who is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in managing US Corporate Tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients. 

Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross border investment and compliance. What you will achieve in this role:

• Manage our US corporate tax practice
• Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections and project budgets
• Review assessments and correspond with the IRS, state authorities and CRA on various issues
• Provide tax advice and solutions to clients and manage client accounts
• Advise on relevant US/Canada cross border issues
• Assist with implementing tax initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing tax planning strategies for clients
• Actively mentor and coach staff to their highest potential
• Review corporate US income tax returns
• Preparation of US corporate tax returns with associated federal and state filings
• Other duties as assigned

What you must bring to this role:

• US and/or Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
• Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or relevant work experience
• Minimum of two years in a manager level position in public practice
• Four to five years of experience with US Tax
• A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of U.S. income taxation
• Leadership and project management skills
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload and multiple deadlines
• Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and develop team members
